Raphael Vangelis's profile

Nike - Force of Nature

Shoes like socks! Natural movement. Lightweight and supportive.

Inspired by the slick movement of a snake and the unchallenged comfort of a cocoon.

For the Nike Free 3.0 the Nike designers have once again focused on the principle of less: eliminating layers, seams and bulk. The final product is all about the power of the foot — not the shoe.

The first Nike project I designed and directed that made it onto the big screen of Nike Londons Oxford Street flagship store.

The aim was to create a design based film with macro imagery of nature that represent the benefits you get from the Nike Flyknit product line. We used the structure of the garment as an inspiration for the slick, stylized and vibrant hyperreal macro CG images.
